Women

Women’s Ministry at First EPC makes strategic use of the woman-to-woman venue for the benefit of the church and its impact on the community. As you participate in women’s groups and gatherings, our goal is to bring authenticity, hope, and the love of Jesus into your life in a way that continually makes you stronger to run the race God has marked out for you. We want to help equip you to be a life-giving influence to those around you. Come on in!

Thursday Morning Bible Study

Thursdays, 9:15 - 11:30 a.m.

Our Thursday morning Bible study for women provides an opportunity for you to be encouraged by the gospel and to form relationships with other women as you see what difference the gospel makes in all your spheres of life. Come and be strengthened as a wife, friend, co-worker, mother, and neighbor. Bring your friends and neighbors! This Bible study is for women of all ages and stages of life.

For those moms or grandmas who have young children, we offer a baby nursery and structured, preschool-type classes with play time, singing, time in the gym, and a Bible lesson.  For home schooling moms, we have a home school group for children in first grade and above. The Thursday Morning Bible Study meets during the Kent School District school year, from mid-September to mid-May.

A typical morning for the women includes a time of singing, a lecture, Bible discussion groups, and prayer. During the summer months, we have park dates and Ladies’ Night Out. We look forward to greeting you!

Evening Bible Studies

We have Growth Groups for women! If you prefer an evening or weekend Bible study, please check out our Growth Groups page for details on Women’s Growth Groups.

Circle Group

Second Wednesday of the month
10 a.m. - noon

Sarah Ruth Circle is a once-a-month Bible study for women to gather together to accept, befriend, and pray for one another as they grow in trusting Christ and applying the Scriptures to the issues they face. The group of mostly retired women also faithfully serves our community, both inside and outside the church. The Sarah Ruth Circle Bible study runs from September through May.  This year, we are studying the book, Seasons of Change, by Georgia Settle.

The Gathering

Tuesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

This fun group encourages women of all ages to express their creativity and enjoy each other’s company. We knit, sew, quilt, scrapbook, cut and share recipes, stamp, and develop friendships. Grab your project from home and drop in this Tuesday night to chat and enjoy a cup of tea in a peaceful atmosphere. Invite your friends and neighbors to come and enjoy the friendship of Christian women.

Events

Christmas Tea

Our beautiful Christmas Tea for women is held on the first Friday evening in December; the perfect time to hear that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas! If you already know this, invite your friends and neighbors to come and hear the amazing good news of our Savior’s birth! The Christmas Tea is designed for visitors, and the tender reminders in the speaker’s message will strengthen your desire to keep Jesus at the center of the season. If you already attend First EPC, come and help us make our visitors welcome.

Women’s Conference

Our women’s conference is an opportunity for you to be strengthened in your trust of Jesus by hearing Biblical teaching specifically designed for women—teaching that will encourage you to examine the way you think and live. The conference is also a time for you to relax and be connected for an extended period with other women. We usually schedule the women's conference on the campus of first EPC over a Friday night and Saturday in late April.  Details about the date, topic, speaker, and cost will begin to be published in January.
