Women’s Ministry at First EPC makes strategic use of the woman-to-woman venue for the benefit of the church and its impact on the community. As you participate in women’s groups and gatherings, our goal is to bring authenticity, hope, and the love of Jesus into your life in a way that continually makes you stronger to run the race God has marked out for you. We want to help equip you to be a life-giving influence to those around you. Come on in!

Thursday Morning Bible Study
Thursdays, 9:15 - 11:30 a.m.
Our Harmony Women's Bible Study provides an opportunity for you to be encouraged by the gospel and to form relationships with other women as you see what difference the gospel makes in all your spheres of life. Come and be strengthened as a wife, friend, co-worker, mother, and neighbor. Bring a friend or neighbor! This Bible study is for women of all ages and stages of life. We begin our study, Joy!: A Study in Philippians, on October 2. Come to our kickoff brunch on September 25, 2014!
For those moms or grandmas who have young children, we offer a baby nursery and structured, preschool-type classes with play time, singing, time in the gym, and a Bible lesson. For home schooling moms, we have a home school group for children in first grade and above. Our Thursday Morning Bible Study meets during the Kent School District school year, from mid-September to mid-May
A typical morning for the women includes a time of singing, a lecture, Bible discussion groups, and prayer. During the summer months, we have park dates and Ladies’ Night Out. We look forward to greeting you!
Wednesday Evening Small Groups
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Women's groups designed with busy women in mind are offered on Wednesday evenings. Come and be refreshed in the gospel, be refreshed by the fruit of the gospel, and be be a refreshing influence on others as you join us in serving the community, both inside and outside the church. Children's programs are offered at the same time.
Refresh Groups will meet October 8 - December 10, 2014 for a discussion of The Pilgrim's Progress, led by Sharon Carter and Marian Joslin. The book we will be using will be available for purchase on October 8. Homework will be to read about 20 pages of the book each week.
Published over 330 years ago, John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress has never been out of print. Other than the Bible, it is one of the world’s most widely-read books, “enormously influential, universally known for its simplicity, vigor, and beauty of language.” Written in allegorical form, the book chronicles the harrowing journey of the main character, Christian, from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. Join us as we embark on the most popular road trip in English literature, refreshed by Biblical truths that are unfolded, and discussing the parallels in our own spiritual journeys.
For the purpose of refreshing others, two service projects will be available during this semester.
Please register so we will have a book for you.
Sarah Ruth Circle Group
Second Wednesday of the month, 10 a.m. - noon
Sarah Ruth Circle is a once-a-month Bible study for women to gather together to accept, befriend, and pray for one another as they grow in trusting Christ and applying the Scriptures to the issues they face. The group of mostly retired women also faithfully serves our community, both inside and outside the church. The Sarah Ruth Circle Bible study runs from September through May. Join us for a kickoff brunch on September 10 and our first discussion of the study on October 8, 2014. This year, Jerrie Ramsay is leading our study of The Parables of Jesus.
Tuesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
This fun group encourages women of all ages to express their creativity and enjoy each other’s company. We knit, sew, quilt, scrapbook, cut and share recipes, stamp, and develop friendships. Grab your project from home and drop in this Tuesday night to chat and enjoy a cup of tea in a peaceful atmosphere. Invite a friend or neighbor to come and enjoy the friendship of Christian women.
