Since the church is likened to a family, God’s family, we emphasize informal gathering of His people in small groups. It is through these relational times that the Christian life is really experienced, where people from all walks of life find that they can gather with others around Jesus, the head of our family, for fellowship, ministry, and care. Here they’ll find that as they give their life away to invest in others as an offering to Christ, He blesses and changes them. Small groups are where newer and long-time attendees can connect, where they are challenged to grow in their faith, discover their spiritual gifts, and given opportunities to minister to the body of Christ. Small groups are where we learn and process God’s Word together, where you find mentors and friends, where you can confess sin and learn more of forgiveness. When a group meets together to pray, sees God’s words unveiled through the study of His Word, fellowships together, and sacrificially meets one another’s needs, others around them see the love and growth expressed and desire a rich relationship with Christ and His people for themselves.

Christian Doctrine: What Do We Believe and What Difference Does it Make?

This survey course touches on the history of the Christian church, the scriptures, God, mankind, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and a theology of salvation, the church, and sacraments . . . and their implications for life in the 21st century. Men and women, high school age and older, are welcome. Leaders Doug Pegors, Jason Graves, and Jamie Richard will be teaching in the MPR.

A Work in Progress

This class for women of all ages is offered in two parts and is taught by Angel Richard, Sharon Carter, and Lucretia Shafer in the Missions Room. In the first six weeks, this class will help us get a big picture view of how God works in our lives to create beautiful change and growth. In the second half of this class, we will look beneath the surface to explore roadblocks and suggest ways to be thoughtful about change. As we interact with one another, where the rubber meets the road, we will come away with skills to help craft a rhythm of life for growth.

Please see additional offerings under Small Groups.

We desire to share the love and grace of Christ with men of all ages. We strive to do this through:

  • Providing opportunities for men to hear about Christ.
  • Discipling men to be like Christ.
  • Equipping men to do the work of Christ.

Our prayer is that this ministry will be an effective tool for deepening relationships among men and to their Lord as they care for one another and those around them.

We invite you to participate in:

Women’s Ministry at First EPC makes strategic use of the woman-to-woman venue for the benefit of the whole church. Women are called to encourage one another to think like Christ, live like Christ, and serve joyfully for the sake of Christ. We will be intentional about strengthening you for the race God has marked out for you. We invite you to peruse the many ministry opportunities listed here and to check the online calendar or Sunday bulletin for meeting times and dates.

College-age

On the last Saturday of November (Thanksgiving weekend) there is a football game held with college vs. high school. This is an exciting yearly event and people enjoy participating and cheering from the sidelines.

In December each year college-age adults are invited to a special dinner to catch up with one another and to celebrate the reason for the season. These events are hosted by Student Ministries.
