God is at work in and through our congregation.

“But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world … had only been the cover and the title page. Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story…which goes on forever, in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

C.S. Lewis
in The Last Battle
Our story is just a part of the integral fabric of God’s glorious story. It includes adventure, drama, and comedy. As individual lives are changed by a relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Him, then begins the chronicle of their journey. Thus our story is made up of the individual stories of each person in our congregation. The redemption story is lived out again and again in member’s lives.

We would like you to briefly meet three of our members and see how God has recently been working in their lives:

Meet Kyle:

“Being a new father is full of joy and excitement. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful daughter and has been allowing me a closer feel for what love without expectation for anything in return is like. He is providing me with incentive to look at myself and how I interact with those around me through innocent eyes, and to recognize some things that need changing. He has provided me an amazing opportunity to marvel at my daughter's mother, and to fall more deeply in love with such a caring and capable woman. Fatherhood has given me the chance to pause and see the wonder and beauty in sights in our world that I have long ago taken for granted. I thank our Lord for trusting me to care for and nurture one of His precious children and the blessings that accompany this stewardship.”

Meet Elaine:

“I continue to be awed at the way God works in the lives of His people. Recently God opened doors for First EPC to partner with two  neighboring churches to serve a weekly dinner to the needy in our community. The response from volunteers and those we are serving has been overwhelming. I am humbled that God used me to help organize this new ministry, and I continue to be blessed as we all work together to share not only food, but also Christ’s grace and love with our neighbors.”

Meet Doug:

“I am entering a new and challenging time in my life right now. For starters, my wonderful wife and I are stepping into the empty-nest phase of our marriage and lives, as our youngest son is going off to his senior year at college. With just us two at home, it can be pretty quiet, and we are adjusting slowly to this transition. Also, I am just starting a new job that the Lord has blessed me with, and it will require a significant amount of learning, personal and professional growth - it is going to stretch me. Clearly, this is where the Lord wants me to be right now - He is sovereign - His plan has brought about these events in His perfect timing for me and for my wife - He is God and I am not. I find that He is faithful and equips me to do what He has asked me to do - all I must do is trust and be obedient. Often, I find those simple words to be difficult to carry out...Trust and obey - simple words - often hard to do. I find when His plan is unfolding and I do trust and obey, the little and big blessings that come as a result are numerous - if I have my eyes and heart open to see and feel them. Simple words, often hard to do, but when I seek the help of the Holy Spirit to equip me, it seems to work out to His glory.”
