Missions Program

First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Renton, Washington, has a very active and vibrant Missions Program. Currently being supported are 30 short and long term missionary individuals and families as well as 26 mission agencies. These various missionaries are based around the world covering almost every continent.

The Purpose of the Missions Committee of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Renton, Washington, is that "God calls each of us to reach out with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We will pursue opportunities, both foreign and domestic, which will encourage others to commit their lives to Him."

The definition of Missions under the jurisdiction of the FEPC Missions Committee shall be defined as any ministry carried on outside the local congregation, not directly under the jurisdiction of FEPC whose purpose is to fulfill the great commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world through evangelism, discipleship, education, church planting, church development and support ministries. We recognize the importance of meeting other human needs through any of these ministries.

The Scriptural Basis for Missions

  1. To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 20:21; Acts 1:8, 26:16-18)
  2. To share Christ’s heart for the world (Matt. 9:36-38; 18:10-14; John 3:16; Gal. 6:9-10)
  3. To see men saved and brought to the knowledge of God (Rom. 10: 13-15; I Cor. 9:19-23; Jude 22-23)
  4. To build up the body of Christ through discipling (Eph. 4:12-16)
  5. To minister to the totality of human need (Matt. 10:42, 22:37-39; 25:31-46)
  6. To obey Christ by confessing Him to the world (Matt. 10:32-33, I John 4:2-3)
