Children’s Ministries

Sunday Morning

Primary Church

Children kindergarten and first grade enjoy a time of singing, praying, and teaching from God’s Word.  This program runs during the school year.

Sunday School - Fall Quarter

Classes are offered for children ages of 18 months through sixth grade.  Our 18-month-old class is only offered during the school year and children may enter throughout the year as they reach 18 months of age.  Sunday school classes for two-year-olds through sixth grade continue during the summer.  Children are advanced to the next class at the beginning of the new school year in September.

Childcare

During the first and third worship services, childcare is provided for infants through children age five.  During the second service, childcare is provided for infants through two years old.  Sunday school classes are provided for toddlers and older preschoolers at this time.

 

Children’s Choirs

We offer three children’s choirs during the school year:

  • The Cherub Choir is for children ages 3½ through Kindergarten.
  • The Carol Choir is for children in grades 1-2.
  • The Celebration Singers is for children in grades 3-6.
All three choirs sing once a month in the Sunday worship services. The Carol Choir and Celebration Singers also prepare and present a yearly musical.

The directors enjoy getting to know the children as they praise God together in song. All children are warmly encouraged to participate.
 

 

Midweek Ministries

Pioneer Girls

Wednesday Evenings during the school year, for Girls in 1st-6th Grades

Pioneer Girls:

  • Helps girls learn from the Bible about God’s love for them.
  • Teaches girls to love and study God’s Word.
  • Presents the gospel and models Christian values and prayer.
  • Teaches about the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every area of life.
  • Enables girls to develop encouraging friendships in an atmosphere of Christian fellowship.

These goals are accomplished through singing praise songs together, then dividing into grade groups for a Bible lesson, Bible memorization, and crafts or games. Girls have an opportunity to earn Bible Award badges that are displayed on their Pioneer Girls vest or sash. Throughout the year, we provide occasional opportunities for service projects, and special celebrations.

Treeclimbers and Stockade are a part of the Christian Service Brigade ministry in which men are involved in the lives of boys to guide them:

  • To a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.

  • To love and study God’s Word.

  • To Christian maturity and service.

  • By providing positive role model relationships with Christian men.

These goals are accomplished through earning achievement awards, engaging in service opportunities, Bible study and memorization, and physical activity. The evenings also include games, craft projects, and story time.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our Wonderful Wednesday Dinners whether this is your first visit or you've attended First EPC for a long time.  Come, enjoy a delicious meal, and get acquainted with us.

Reservations must be made by marking your Welcome/Prayer Card (found in the Sunday bulletin) each week and placing it in the offering plate or calling the church office by 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
